Title	Combined hyperopic-presbyopic LASEK
Abstract Nr.	A2022

Purpose	to correct presbyopia in hyperopic eyes bij LASEK Setting/Venue : University Hospital of Antwerp, Dept. of Ophthalmology & New Vision Laser Center, Antwerp
Methods	LASEK was performed with the broad beam Gaussian Excimer Laser of InPro on 20 eyes of 10 patients. 12 ablation zones of 3.5mm diameter were performed around a central ablation free zone of 3mm. For the four inferior ablation zones, 2 diopters were added.
Results	Mean age was 50.2 year (range 44-59). Mean preoperative refraction was +2.9D±1.3D. Post operative uncorrected visual acuity (UCVA) was 0.9 (range 0.7-1.0). All patients could read Parinaud 2.40% of the cases could read Parinaud 1.
Conclusion	Adding a supplementary excentric ablation of 2 diopters in the inferior quadrant gives a good presbyopic correction. No side effects such as monocular diplopia were noticed.
