TitleBimanual microincision phacoemulsification using the new “custom control software” on the millennium microsurgical system
Abstract Nr.P003
PurposeTo establish optimum machine settings for bimanual microincision phacoemulsification using “Custom Control Software” on the Millennium Microsurgical System.
Methods30 Patients underwent bimanual phacosurgery utilizing “Custom Control Software” on the B&L Millennium. Safety and efficacy of the procedure are evaluated. U/S average, elapsed phaco time (EPT), absolute phaco time (APT) and postoperative visual acuity on day 1 are recorded.
ResultsThe new software on the B&L Millennium offers expanded ultrasound Pulse and Burst Mode settings. This enables the surgeon to perform safe and effective bimanual microincision phacoemulsification with 73% of eyes having a BCVA of 20/25 or better on day 1.
ConclusionUsing “Custom Control Software”, phacoemulsification can be performed safely and efficiently through microincisions with a bimanual technique on the Millennium Microsurgical System.
