TitleLASIK after previous refractive surgery
Abstract Nr.A2027
PurposeTo report on the ACCURACY,THE PREDICTABILITY AND THE SAFETY ,of Lasik with the Mel 80 LASER IN EYES THAT HAD PREVIOUS REFRACTIVE SURGERY
Methods90 Eyes were reviewed after Lasik treatment post-LTK(15 EYES)-RK(46 EYES)-Refractive Lensectomy (12 EYES)and Phakic ARTISAN VERISYSE IOL (17 EYES).Ucva and Bscva before and after retreatment as well as eventual complications during treatment were reviewed.
The Carl Zeiss Meditec Mel 80 laser- a Gaussian beam profile spot scanning laser - , was used as the treatment tool. Results were analysed at three months and 1 year.
Results All eyes came out between +/- 1 dioptre intended/ achieved correction. Not one eye lost two lines or more of Bscva. All retreated eyes improved in UCVA and BCVA.Ltk eyes improved from a mean Ucva of 0,47 and Bscva of 0,91before to 0,77 Ucva and Bscva 0,93 after treatment .Rk eyes improved from mean Ucva of 0,17 and Bscva of 0,75before to 0,66 Ucva and Bscva 0,89 after treatment .Refractive Lensectomy eyes improved from mean Ucva of 0,45 and Bscva of 0,86before to 0,75 Ucva and Bscva 0,93 after treatment .Phakic iol eyes improved from mean Ucva of 014 and Bscva of 0,59 before to 0,53 Ucva and Bscva 0,83 after treatment.

No important surgical related complications occurred
ConclusionLasik after previous refractive surgery is extremely rewarding. The technique is safe, predictable and accurate
