ICC-4: Vitreomacular pathology secondary to retinal disease: When to refer

Intermediate course

Abnormalities of the vitreomacular interface can develop secondary to diseases such as RVO, DRP & AMD. Further, vitreomacular abnormalities may contribute to the disease itself, impeding optimal treatment, complicating follow-up & contributing to visual loss. When is the best moment to refer these patients to a vitreoretinal surgeon for evaluation and & possible surgery? What can physician & patient expect? What are the risks & benefits? These topics will be discussed in an interactive fashion.
