Heavy silicone oil, indications and complications

But	To demonstrate the indications and side-effects of heavy silicone oil.
Méthodes	Comparison is made with conventional silicone oil and case reports are presented.
Résultats	Benefits and disadvantages of heavy silicone oil are highlighted.
Conclusion	The chemical characteristics of heavy silicone oil bring unique qualities for use as a longstanding intra-ocular tamponade. Nevertheless, caution should be taken in its use.
