TitleEvaluation of the new Alcon- Intrepid FMS for microcoaxial phacoemulsification
Abstract Nr.232
PurposeTo compare the intraocular chamber stability and operative metrics when using the torsional ultasound modality (Ozil) with two Fluid Management Systems (classical and new Intrepid FMS) during microcoaxial (2.2mm) phacoemulsification.
MethodsSixty cataract patients divided into two groups. Group A : 30 patients with Intrepid FMS . Group B: 30 patients with classical FMS. The study tracks the following parameters: CDE, aspiration time, BSS use during phaco, pre and post operative pachymetry and BCVA and bottle height.
ConclusionThe new Intrepid FMS with more rigid tubing helps to suppress the surge with a lower bottle height.
