TitleIntermediate Vision with the ReSTOR® +3 Aspheric Multifocal Intraocular Lens
PurposePURPOSE: The intermediate vision provided by the AcrySof® ReSTOR® +3 Aspheric Multifocal Intraocular Lens (IOL) was evaluated in this prospective clinical evaluation. Results for uncorrected and best distance corrected acuities were compared with FDA results for the original ReSTOR +4 Multifocal IOL. Patient’s subjective visual satisfaction was also evaluated.

SETTING: Single cataract and refractive surgery center with one surgeon.

Methods
METHODS: Cataract patients interested in a presbyopia-correcting IOL were recruited for this study and were implanted with bilateral ReSTOR +3 aspheric IOLs. Postoperative binocular best-distance corrected and uncorrected visual acuity were evaluated at 4m, 70cm, 60cm, 50cm and 40cm and compared to the results from the US FDA study of the original ReSTOR +4 IOL (non-aspheric). Patient satisfaction and spectacle wear was evaluated postoperatively.

ResultsRESULTS: Early results with the ReSTOR +3 lens will be reported with the uncorrected and best-distance-corrected visual acuity the primary measures of interest.

ConclusionAdvantages over the Retsore4d will be reported.
