PurposeUveal melanoma is the most common intraocular tumor is adults. This presentation will summarize the diagnosis, and discuss prognostic factors influencing survival in uveal melanoma
MethodsRevision of the literature with focus on the COMS reports and data from 2500 uveal melanoma patients in Leiden University and Leuven University.
ResultsMost important clinical prognostic factor remains the tumor growth and localisation, but histopathological and genetical features can give additional information. The survival in different groups will be discussed.
ConclusionBrachytherapy is a save therapy for uveal melanoma, and shows similar survival percentages compared to enucleation.
