| Titel | Results of segmental scleral buckle in primary rhegmatogenic retinal detachment |
| Abstract Nr. | 125 |
| Doel | To evaluate the anatomical results of segmental scleral buckle surgery in patients with primary rhegmatogenic retinal detachment. |
| Methodes | All cases of primary rhegmatogenic retinal detachment, who underwent surgery by one surgeon with the technique of segmental scleral buckling, and this over the course of 3 years, were retrospectively reviewed. |
| Resultaten | Anatomical success was obtained in 40 (88.8%) of the 45 eyes. There were 3 causes of redetachment being: PVR in 2 cases, undetected hole in 1 case, and intra-vitreal hemorrhage in 2 cases. The final anatomical success rate being 100% after multiple surgeries. |
| Conclusie | Our anatomical success rate is in agreement with the findings in the literature, and the success rate of other techniques for rhegmatogenic retinal detachment. |
