TitelEpi-Lasik with the new Epi head of the XP Microkeratome

DoelTo evaluate the new Epi Head of the Xp Microkeratome from Bausch & Lomb.
Methodes20 myopic eyes, with a refraction lower than -5 D and an astigmatism lower than -1 D, and 4 hyperopic eyes, with a refraction lower than +2.50 D, were enrolled in this 6 months follow-up study. Surgery was performed by the same surgeon (BM), using a 217Z-100 Bausch & Lomb Excimer Laser and a Xp Microkeratome with the Epi Head.
Data were collected at J1, J3, 1M, 3M, 6M.
Comfort of the patient, visual recovery, satisfaction were noted on a scale from 1 to 10.
Speed of epithelial wound healing was measured.
ResultatenThere was a significal improvement in patient comfort, speed of visual recovery and haze infiltrates using the Epi Head versus conventional PRK or Lasek.
No complications occurred.
Data will be presented.
ConclusieThe Epi-lasik with the new Epi Head is a safe and reliable method.
