Titel	The new preloaded Acrysof IQ IOL injected with the Acrysert Delivery System: my experience

Doel	To study implantation of Acrysof IQ IOL through different sizes of incisions using the new preloaded injector Acrysert.
Methodes	In a prospective study of 200 consecutive eyes undergoing cataract surgery, the preloaded Acrysof IQ lens was implanted through a range of incisions from 2.2 to 2.8 mm. A newly designed fully preloaded injector system (Acrysert Delivery System) was used. The injector was evaluated in 3 aspects : ease of manipulating the injector, ease of propelling lens inside the nozzle and exit of lens in correct configuration through different sizes of incision. Moreover, the IOL was examined for any debris or damage and any problems encountered were noted.
Resultaten	The implantation cartridge is comfortable in the hand and easy to use. The Acrysert Delivery system is used in 3 steps : Filling the cartridge with BSS and Viscoat, pulling up the lens stop and then pushing the plunger in order to advance the lens in slow motion. The injections were successfull throught different incisions depending on the injection technique. No damage to the IOLs was found by gross examination. No deposits or debris were found on the IOL optical surface after the surgery. Nevertheless, improvements can be achieved with a smaller nozzle size as MONARCH C cartridge and a new plunger design.
Conclusie	Our experience suggests that the implantation of the Preloaded Acrysof IQ IOL with the Acrysert Delivery System gives promising results and can be used starting from 2.2 mm incisions.
