TitelIOL Calculation after refractive surgery
DoelTo help the surgeon to choose the right method for iol calculation
MethodesClinical review of Refractive patients having had cataract surgery with iol calculations following different methods.
The first one is “the clinical history” method. Then the “corneal bypass” method, followed by formulas using preoperative keratometry or preoperative refraction. A rigid contact lens can also be used.
ResultatenThe most effective and accurate technique was the “clinical history” method, to determine the right keratometry. However, the best formula had to be chosen as well, and our results were the best using Hoffer Q formula
ConclusieIol calculation after refractive surgery is really challenging. Patients must be warned that a lens exchange is always possible. In our hands, clinical history method and Hoffer Q formula achieved the best results.
