| Titel | Deposition of pseudoexfoliative material on the surface of an intraocular lens |
| Abstract Nr. | P02 |
| Doel | To report a case of pseudoexfoliation (PEX) syndrome with deposition of PEX material on the anterior surface of an acrylic IOL. |
| Resultaten | An 82-year-old white female presented with bilateral PEX syndrome. Classic PEX deposits were observed on the anterior surface of both lens capsules. An uneventful phacoemulsification was performed on the left eye with implantation of a type 89A (Morcher) IOL by the bag-in-the-lens implantation technique. After 14 months of follow-up, the classic pattern of PEX had reappeared on the anterior surface of the IOL. |
| Conclusie | Apart from deposition on many ocular tissues, PEX material can accumulate on acrylic IOL material. |
