TitrePrimary Infantile exotropia
Abstract Nr.117
ButThis is a rare motility disorder characterized by divergent strabismus that must begin before the age of six months. Primary infantile exotropia is seen in healthy patients who have no evidence of systemic or ocular disease. The angle of strabismus is usually large and constant. The deviation at near is as large as those at distance. Amblyopia is is seen in a minority of cases. Dissociated vertical deviation and overaction of the oblique muscles may exist. Latent nystagmus is uncommon.
