| Titre | Peroperative fluorescein angiography during pars plana vitrectomy |
| Abstract Nr. | 132 |
| But | To evaluate the technique, indications and safety of a routine fluorescein angiography (FA) procedure during three port pars plana vitrectomy. |
| Méthodes | During vitrectomy, fluorescein dye was injected intravenously by an anaesthesiologist in 5 patients. Appropriate filters were used in light source and microscope. A high frequency real time movie was digitally recorded, still images were deduced of this. |
| Résultats | When performing vitreoretinal surgery, unexpected questions can rise concerning diagnosis and treatment. Since FA is a method of choice in diagnosis of retinal diseases, peroperative FA provides an opportunity to answer those questions. The risk of anaphylactic reactions is comparable with office based procedures. |
| Conclusion | Peroperative FA delivers additional information concerning diagnosis and treatment during vitrectomy. Technique and indications will be discussed. |
