TitreCalculation of spherical aberration and MTF after cataract surgery with implantation of the Zeiss ZO Invent intraocular lens
Butto study the spherical aberration of eyes that underwent cataract surgery with subsequent implantation of the Zeiss Invent ZO lens

MéthodesThe Zeiss ZO Invent intraocular lens is the first lens to be designed based on the predicted effect on the quality of vision by the calculation of the ocular MTF.
The advanced optic of the ZEISS aspheric lens is patterned after the Liou & Brennan (LBE) eye model. It places the young, phakic human eye into an optical, physiological and realistic environment, using the physiological off-axis of the pupil in nasal and the tilt of the visual/optical axis as its basis.
20 eyes underwent uneventfull cataract extraction with implantation of a Zeiss ZO Invent intraocular lens. Postoperatively, wavefront measurement and calculation of the spherical aberration was performed using the Zeiss Wasca aberrometer.
RésultatsSpherical aberration and MTF of the eye after cataract surgery with implantation of the Zeiss Invent ZO lens will be shared. These results will be compared with the young natural phakic eye.
ConclusionThe ZEISS Optic closely mimics the anatomical and optical imaging properties of the young, natural human eye
The ZO® aspheric optic enables the reduction and control of spherical aberrations while also demonstrating very low sensitivity to decentration and tilt. The optic concept compensates for a portion of the positive spherical aberrations of the pseudophakic eye, improves the retinal image quality of patients, as well as enhances contrast perception in mesopic conditions.
