| Purpose | Since the start of treatment of amblyopia, about 250 years ago, an important progress in knowledge as well as in screening leads to an earlier and thus more succesfull treatment. The different actual methods of treatment will be discussed. A study of the literature shows that there is not yet a consensus about many aspects of the treatment : for instance about timing of the beginning and the end of treatment, occlusion or penalization, full-time or part-time occlusion? Most of our patients have an improved and stable visual acuity at the cessation of the treatment. The purpose of this presentation is to give some practical guidelines based on our daily practice. |
