| Title | Refractive outcome after implantation of an apodized diffractive intraocular lens (Acrysof ReSTOR, ALCON) |
| Abstract Nr. | 332 |
| Purpose | To evaluate the objective and subjective results after cataract surgery with implantation of an acrylic diffractive multifocal intraocular lens (ReSTOR). |
| Methods | Eyes from eligible patients underwent phacoemulsification with implantation of the Acrysof Restor lens. Uncorrected (UCVA) and best corrected visual acuities (BCVA), and patient satisfaction were measured in all patients. |
| Results | Preliminary results of 111 eyes from 69 patients (42 bilateral) were the followings: Mean uncorrected distance visual acuity was 0.85 Mean uncorrected near visual acuity was 0,93 Overall satisfaction was rated ≥ 8/10 in ninety two percent of the patients Haloes ratios were also evaluated. |
| Conclusion | Preliminary results suggest that the Acrysof Restor provides very good and very satisfaying near and distance vision. |
