TitleRefractive outcome after implantation of an apodized diffractive intraocular lens (Acrysof ReSTOR, ALCON)
Abstract Nr.332
PurposeTo evaluate the objective and subjective results after cataract surgery with implantation of an acrylic diffractive multifocal intraocular lens (ReSTOR).
MethodsEyes from eligible patients underwent phacoemulsification with implantation of the Acrysof Restor lens. Uncorrected (UCVA) and best corrected visual acuities (BCVA), and patient satisfaction were measured in all patients.
ResultsPreliminary results of 111 eyes from 69 patients (42 bilateral) were the followings:
Mean uncorrected distance visual acuity was 0.85
Mean uncorrected near visual acuity was 0,93
Overall satisfaction was rated ≥ 8/10 in ninety two percent of the patients
Haloes ratios were also evaluated.
ConclusionPreliminary results suggest that the Acrysof Restor provides very good and very satisfaying near and distance vision.
