| Title | Ocular alignment after BIL implantation |
| Abstract Nr. | 304 |
| Purpose | To describe clinical results after bag-in-the-lens (BIL) implantation which lens centration is surgeon-controlled. |
| Methods | The BIL implantation, primarily designed to avoid PCO, includes a very important surgical degree of freedom consisting in the alignment of the BIL using the purkinje reflexes of the light sources of the surgical microscope. |
| Results | Based on the post-mortem images (MRI and histology), centration by using the caliper ring and the Purkinje reflexes, is an interesting surgical approach. |
| Conclusion | Surgeon-controlled BIL aims at optimizing patient's quality of vision, more specifically when implementing toric, aspherical or multifocal correction in the IOL optic. |
