TitleReal World Visual Performance and Patient Satisfaction Outcomes of a Novel Wavefront Shaping Presbyopia-Correcting IOL
PurposeTo report real world visual outcomes and patient satisfaction in a large cohort implanted bilaterally with Acrysof IQ Vivity and/or Acrysof IQ Vivity Toric presbyopia correcting IOL.
MethodsMulticenter, ambispective registry study conducted worldwide. After a minimum of 3 months post-op follow up after second eye surgery, subjects implanted with the AcrySof IQ Vivity/Vivity Toric IOL in both eyes underwent visual performance assessments of visual acuity at distance, intermediate and near. Subject satisfaction and spectacle independence recorded via validated questionnaires and patient reports of visual disturbances are reported. This cohort includes 4% post corneal refractive surgery subjects and 25% with ocular comorbidities.
Results757 subjects aged 66.9 years were enrolled. Binocular mean UCDVA and BCDVA were 0.014 logMAR and -0.034 logMAR, respectively. Mean UCIVA and DCIVA were 0.085 and 0.094 logMAR, respectively. Mean UCNVA and DCNVA were 0.247 logMAR and 0.284 logMAR, respectively.91.4% of patients reported to be satisfied with their sight. 59.4% of subjects reported never/rarely needing eyeglasses to see up close; 88,7% at arm’s length distance and 92.9% at far away. Subjects reporting “None” for halos was 91.8%, glare 92.1% or starbursts 94.9%.
ConclusionIn this large cohort real world study of patients bilaterally implanted with AcrySof IQ Vivity/Vivity Toric presbyopia correcting IOLs, we have observed very good distance, intermediate, and functional near visual acuity outcomes. Very high percentages of spectacle independence as well as very low visual disturbances.
