TitleCase report: Intraocular lens exchange for IOL opacification after vitreous haemorrhage
Abstract Nr.123
PurposeWe describe late postoperative opacification of a hydrophylic acrylic intraocular lens (IOL) after a vitreous haemorrhage. The vitreal bleeding occurred 9 months after uneventful phacotrabeculectomy. The etiology of the haemorrhage is unknown.
The IOL was explanted 20 months after phacotrabeculectomy and replaced by an iris-claw IOL.
Light and electron microscopy results of the explanted IOL will be reported.
This is the first case of IOL opacification after vitreous haemorrhage.
