With the advent of daily wear lenses and silicone hydrogel lenses more and more people are wearing contactlenses . However recent studies on microbial keratitis after CL wear indicate that the incidence of infectious keratitis has not diminished. Moreover two recent epidemics have demonstrated an increased risk for non-bacterial keratitis following contact lens wear. This ICC will focus on the latest developments in CL related microbial keratitis with an emphasis on clinical diagnosis and prevention.
